WEEDSPORT, NY (December 6, 2024) – Weedsport Speedway is set to welcome both the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars and the Super DIRTcar Series Modifieds to Empire State Challenge Weekend on July 26-27.
The two-day racing event will feature the Super DIRT Car Series Hall of Fame 100 on July 26, while the World of Outlaws return to Weedsport for their only stop in the state of New York on July 27.
“Last year’s Empire State Challenge drew record numbers to Weedsport for the World of Outlaws,” said Weedsport Speedway promoter, Jimmy Phelps. “It is no secret that fans enjoy camping and the large event feel at Weedsport, so what better way to extend the weekend than to kick it off with the best big block racers in the country.”
Last year’s Super DIRTcar Series events at Weedsport were claimed by series champion, Mat Williamson, and Stewart Friesen. This year’s Hall of Fame 100 will be the second of four stops for the tour at Weedsport, joining the May 25 Heroes Remembered 100, the opening round of SummerFAST on August 17 and the September 6 Cavalcade Cup 100.
David Gravel will return to Weedsport in 2025 with the World of Outlaws looking to extend his record win total at The Port to five. Last year, Gravel drove to his fourth triumph at the Weedsport oval, breaking a tie with Outlaw legends Steve Kinser and Donny Schatz for most all-time.
