WEEDSPORT, NY (April 28, 2025) – Weedsport Speedway’s 2025 campaign will officially begin this Sunday, May 4 with the running of the Icebreaker 50, presented by Ferris Mowers.
The Port’s May 4 lid lifter will be the first of seven events at the 3/8 mile oval and will feature a three-division card including the DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds, the DIRTcar Sportsman Series, as well as Hoosier 600 Sprint Tour.
The DIRTcar Big Block Modified portion of the event will pay $4,000 to the race winner, with $250 to take the green. Timed hot laps will lineup heat races, with the top qualifiers out of each heat redrawing for the main event. The race will count toward the Hoosier Tire Weekly Series standings.
All DIRTcar Big Block Modified rules will apply for the event, with all DIRTcar 358 Spec and W-16 rules also in play. Minimum weight for Spec 358’s and W-16’s will be 2450lbs.
A fine field of Big Block Modifieds is expected, as drivers begin to prepare for the Super DIRTcar Series Heroes Remembered 100 at Weedsport on Sunday, May 25.
Sunday will also mark the first round of the DIRTcar Sportsman Series Central Region, with $1,000 going to the winner. The Series’ North Region recently opened at Can-Am Speedway, with Tyler Corcoran picking up the win over Richard Murtaugh III, Gavin Eisele, Shane Pecore and Bobby Herrington.
Hauler entry will be permitted at Noon on May 4, with pit gates officially opening at 3 p.m.
While racing is set to begin at 6 p.m., grandstand gates will open at 4 p.m. with live entertainment in the midway by Nick Stark. Ferris Mowers will also have a full line of new mowers on display throughout the midway during the duration of the event.
