WEEDSPORT, NY (January 21, 2020) – Weedsport Kartway’s 2020 schedule is set with five racing events on tap to crown Super Kart Series champions.
A total of eight divisions will compete for championship points in 2020 including Jr. Red Clone, Jr. Green Clone, Jr. Purple Clone, Jr. Blue Clone, Jr. Unrestricted, Clone Light, Clone Heavy and Clone Super Heavy. Each event will also include at least one PRO division to end the day’s racing.
The 2020 calendar for the Kartway begins with ‘Heroes Remembered Weekend’ on Sunday, May 24. All eight point divisions will be on tap, as well as a $1,000 to win PRO Clone 360 main, which will also count as the first race of the 2020 PRO Kart Challenge.
The Sunday kart event will serve as a warm-up for the Speedway’s Super DIRTcar Series Heroes Remembered 100 on Monday, May 25.
A full month of June at Weedsport Speedway will see the second Kartway event take place on Sunday, July 12. The ‘Pencils Down Showdown’ will feature a $250 to win PRO Jr. Unrestricted feature event and a $500 to win PRO Clone 360 main, on top of the Kartway’s eight divisions of point racing.
‘Kart Cup’ will return on Sunday, August 23, with a total of $1,500 in winner’s money on the line in PRO Clone 360 along with the third round of the Super Kart Series. The ‘Kart Cup’ will again be highlighted by Twin $500 to win PRO Clone 360 mains, with another $500 going to the overall champion.
A rain date will be set for Sunday, August 30 to cover any of the first three events of the season.
The fourth round of the Super Kart Series will kick-off the fall season on Sunday, September 20. All point classes will be joined by a $500 to win PRO Clone 360 feature go and the $500 to win ‘Super Heavy Shootout’ Clone Super Heavy main for drivers weighing 200 lbs. and up.
Lastly, the season will conclude with the 3rd annual ‘Octoberfest’ on October 17-18.
The Super Kart Series point battle will conclude on Saturday, October 17 in conjunction with PRO time trials and the NYS Clone Heavy Invitational.
On Sunday, October 18, all PRO events will take place including the lucrative $2,000 to win Octoberfest 40, the final event of the PRO Kart Challenge.
A Kartway test and tune session will be held on Sunday, May 17.
