The inaugural IMCA Modified Northeast Shootout will be held Sunday, May 3rd at Weedsport Speedway. What is now the top-paying event for IMCA sanctioned Modifieds in the State of New York this season will send the winner home with a check for $2,500. The winner also receives a six-foot tall trophy and, providing they comply with New York State laws and regulations, a brass inlaid, engraved Winchester 30-30 rifle.
The Northeast Shootout is sponsored by Ken Sroka’s All Ways Concrete Pumping and Repair Plus, both of Auburn.
IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Dirt Works Eastern Region, Allstar Performance State and special series points will be awarded.
The Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot event is part of the Empire State Series and pays a minimum of $150 to feature qualifiers.
If there are 50 or more IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified entries, a $300 to win, minimum $50 to start “B” feature will be added to the program. The top two finishers in that race would then have the option of transferring to the feature field.
Distance for the feature will be 30 laps.
Pit gates open at 3 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m., hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. Entry fee is $30.
Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $5 for students ages 10-17 and free for kids 9 and under when accompanying a paid adult. Pit passes are $25.
Crate Sportsman will also be a part of the evening’s schedule.
