WEEDSPORT, NY (December 15, 2023) – Weedsport Kartway announced the 2024 Slack Karts Super Kart Series schedule on Friday, with eight events planned to crown track champions in the new year.
The 2024 campaign will feature one series event in each month from April through October, with eight points classes vying for track championship leather jackets from Infinit Technology Solutions of East Syracuse, NY.
“We have to thanks Slack Karts, Performance Manufacturing, Infinit Technology Solutions, Independent Pizzeria, Pit Stop Convenience Stores and Burris Racing Tire for their continued support,” said Weedsport Kartway promoter, Dan Kapuscinski. “Their help is crucial to being able to put this series on for our dedicated racers that have supported us.”
Weedsport’s 2024 points classes will include Jr. Red Clone (5-7), Jr. Green Clone (7-9), Jr. Purple Clone (9-13), Jr. Blue Clone (12-15), Jr. Unrestricted Clone (13-15), Clone Light, Clone Heavy and Clone Super Heavy.
All divisions will still utilize AKRA Clone guidelines for the coming season, as well as Burris 33 tires. The only change from 2023 will be an upgrade for Jr. Red Clone to an open pipe rule.
The 2024 season will open with the only two-day event of the year on April 20-21, featuring Spring Meltdown Weekend. All eight points classes will contend on each day, with a $1,000 PRO Clone 360 main on Saturday and a $2,000 PRO Clone 360 main on Sunday. The Saturday portion of the weekend will feature a later than normal start time, with features planned to be contended under the lights.
Just two weeks later the annual Kart Cup will return on Sunday, May 5. All eight points classes will be joined by a 35-lap, $1,500 to win main for PRO Clone 360. This year’s Kart Cup finale will be run in one 35-lap stretch, as opposed to the Twin 20’s in years passed.
The Pencils Down Showdown on Sunday, June 16, Summer Nationals on Sunday, July 21 and the Short Port Shootout on Sunday, August 11 will fill the summer months at The Short Port.
September will once again be highlighted by the James Shutts Memorial on Sunday, September 15. Two PRO events will join the points racing card with PRO Clone 360 running for $1,000 and PRO Clone Super Heavy once again vying for $1,222 across two, 22-lap segments.
The series schedule will conclude on Saturday, October 26 with Octoberfest VI, under the lights. All eight divisions will crown points champions on this night with PRO Clone 360 running the most laps, for the largest winner’s purse in track history; 50-laps at $3,000 to win.
A Sunday rain date will be in effect for Octoberfest VI on October 27.
One drop will be permitted for points divisions as part of the Slack Karts Super Kart Series. However, the drop cannot be used during Octoberfest VI. Any rainouts during the season will eliminate the drop.
Weedsport will be offering two open practice dates on Thursday, May 2 and Thursday, June 13 with more details to come.
