WEEDSPORT, NY (May 20, 2024) – The CRSA Sprints will open their seven race I-90 Pit Stop Challenge this Sunday at Weedsport Speedway as part of the Super DIRTcar Series Heroes Remember 100.
The CRSA will be part of a triple bill at Weedsport on May 26, joining the Super DIRTcar Series and the DIRTcar Sportsman.
Fans can expect a large turnout of CRSA sprinters this weekend, as in the last two years Weedsport has seen 33 entries for each event and an overall average of more than 27 cars. Billy VanInwegen leads all drivers in wins at Weedsport with two, while Bobby Parrow and Darryl Ruggles each have one.
Blake Warner is the current series point leader following two events, with a six point edge on Tomy Moreau. Jordan Hutton, who won the season opener at Thunder Mountain Speedway is third, followed by Ron Greek and Jeff Trombley.
Last weekend Matt Rotz earned his first career CRSA win at Land of Legends Raceway, topping a record 38 entries. Parrow, Alysha Bay, Trombley and Moreau chased Rotz across the line in the series’ second A-Main of the year.
Tickets for the upcoming Heroes Remembered 100 on Sunday, May 26 can be purchased online at www.weedsportspeedway.com. Simply click the tickets tab at the top right hand corner of the site’s main page and select ‘Buy Tickets’ for the May 26 event.
Base pricing for the event is set at $40 for reserved seating, $35 for adult general admission, $15 for youth general admission, with kids 10 and under FREE.
Pit gates will open on May 26 at 4 p.m., followed by grandstand gates opening at 5 p.m., with racing slated for 7 p.m.
Local recording artist Steven Cali will kick off the night’s festivities with live music in the midway beginning at 5 p.m.
