Despite a small passing rain shower early in the evening, Weedsport Speedway finally put together its first event of the season with Mark Smith beating Larry Wight for the $5,000 top prize in the ESS/URC Ultimate Wingless Shootout presented by Big Dog Country 103.5 FM.
Central New York race fans will be served a treat on Sunday at Weedsport Speedway as the ESS and URC will combine for the $5,000 to win Ultimate Wingless Shootout presented by Big Dog Country 103.5 FM, bringing the best 360 Sprint Car racers in the area together for a special non-wing event on the unique 3/8 mile.
For the second time, Weedsport Speedway’s Big Block/Small Block Challenge has been defeated by mother nature, as passing showers just after 5 p.m. forced the cancellation of the event to be held on Sunday, June 18.
This Sunday, June 18, an exciting season of racing from the Weedsport Speedway will begin; but this Sunday will also mark the debut of Speedway Showcase, which looks back at exciting racing from the 2016 season at Weedsport.

After two failed attempts to go racing in mid-May, Weedsport Speedway is ready for its season opener this Sunday, June 4 with the Big Block/Small Block Challenge presented by Big Dog Country 103.5 FM.
With the postponement of the Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Monday main event last week, Weedsport Speedway officials are happy to announce that the upcoming Big Block/Small Block Challenge on June 4, now presented by Big Dog Country 103.5 FM, will be broadcast nationally on Suzuki presents SPEED SPORT on MAVTV.
Due to heavy overnight rain and saturated grounds, the Super DIRTcar Series has postponed Big-Block Monday at Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, NY. Track and series officials are working together to choose a date for the rescheduled event.
Despite a tremendous effort, Weedsport Speedway and World of Outlaws officials have been forced to postpone tonight’s Empire State Challenge to Sunday, October 15 due to a long line of passing showers.
