WEEDSPORT, NY (August 22, 2024) – In an exciting conclusion to Weedsport Speedway’s 2024 season, the Stirling Lubricants Cavalcade Cup Weekend will post weekend Modified purses of more than $80,000 on September 7-8.
The lucrative weekend comes thanks in part to a $20,000 boost from track owner Al Heinke and Mohawk Northeast to the Saturday, September 7 Super DIRTcar Series Cavalcade Cup 100, which will now pay $15,000 to win and $1,000 to take the green flag, making for a Saturday total of $56,100.
The Sunday, September 8 DIRTcar Big Block Modified finale will now also pay $5,000 to win and $400 to start.
To encourage participation across both days of action, A-Verdi Storage Containers has also partnered for the weekend to provide the A-Verdi Big Block Round Up, a $2,100 point fund to be distributed to the Top 5 drivers in points across both days. The champion will receive a $1,000 bonus.
In total, $81,575 will be on the line for Modified drivers at Weedsport on September 7-8.
“Thanks to Stirling Lubricants, Mohawk Northeast, A-Verdi Storage Containers and Pit Stop Convenience Stores, we are on our way to growing Cavalcade Cup Weekend into a year-end staple,” said Weedsport Speedway promoter, Jimmy Phelps. “Our goal is to generate this event into a one of the premier Modified races in the northeast and advancing the purse in this direction, thanks to our great partners, is a great start to making this happen.”
A full weekend of action on September 7-8 will see the Super DIRTcar Series in action with the DIRTcar Sportsman Series Sportsman Classic 75 and the CRSA Sprint Cars on September 7.
The DIRTcar Big Blocks will contend on September 8 with the return of the ESS Sprint Cars and the Empire Street Stock Series.
