WEEDSPORT, NY (May 23, 2024) – Some of the area’s best DIRTcar Sportsman competitors are set to take on Weedsport Speedway this Sunday as part of the Heroes Remembered 100 special.
This Sunday’s event for the DIRTcar Sportsman will be the first of four events at The Port this season as they will join the Super DIRTcar Series Modifieds and the CRSA Sprints.
Last year Zach Sobotka, Cody Manitta and Emmett Waldron led the way in the Weedsport standings and each are expected to be in action this weekend for a 25-lap feature go.
Sobotka is the current point leader at Land of Legends Raceway with one main event win, while Manitta and Waldron have each scored victories at Fulton Speedway this season and sit in the top five in points.
Zach Buff and Richard Murtaugh III both found victory hill at Weedsport in 2023 and should be back in town to look for more.
Buff currently leads the DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Hoosier Tire Weekly Championship with one win and four top five finishes in seven starts this season.
