WEEDSPORT, NY (June 1, 2021) – The CRSA Sprints invaded Weedsport Speedway on Sunday and put on a thrilling show which saw Bobby Parrow outlast Darryl Ruggles Jr. in a fight to the finish as part of the Heroes Remembered 100 special at The Port.
More than 20 CRSA Sprints took the green flag, with Ruggles, Parrow and Jeff Trombley waging a three car battle after each was able to top early race leader, Jordan Hutton.
Unfortunately, after the trio swapped positions back and forth for numerous laps, Trombley ran into trouble relegating him to a 19th place finish. That left Parrow and Ruggles to battle it out in the closing stages. As the laps wound down in the 25-lap affair, Parrow was able to take advantage in lapped traffic and hurry away to the win in the beautiful No. 53 sprinter. Ruggles held on for second with Dalton Herrick coming on strong toward the end of the event to take third. Early leader, Hutton, held strong for fourth ahead of Chase Moran in the top five.
Josh Flint, Gerry Sehn, Trevor Years, Dan Bennett and Erik Karlsen finished the top ten.
Weedsport Speedway returns to action on Sunday, June 13 for the Sportsman Classic featuring the DIRTcar Sportsman, Big Block Modifieds and 600cc Micro Sprints. Pit gates will open on June 13 at 3 p.m. with grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. and action starting at 6 p.m.
